About: Nancy Hickman

Nancy Hickman is a co-founder of Counseling and Training Services, Inc. She is an experienced therapist and speaker. As a therapist, she works with a wide variety of clients including individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents and clinical supervisees. Nancy focuses on helping her clients remove the barriers from their lives that keep them from feeling happy and fulfilled. She also helps people see change in their lives as growth opportunities. As a result, clients report greater personal and professional satisfaction. In therapy and clinical supervision, she strives to create a mutual atmosphere where empowerment occurs.

As a speaker and a clinician Nancy employs humor to facilitate learning and encourage growth. She has been described as a “dynamic” presenter. Nancy has over 30 years experience in mental health and human services, including over 18 years in private practice. She has worked in both the public and private sector and with for profit and nonprofit organizations. Nancy has also worked as manager and a consultant to a wide variety of programs. In addition, she has presented numerous seminars on clinical and ethics issues.

For ten years, Nancy served as the Chair of Georgia Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers Ethics committee.  In this capacity, she adjudicated ethical complaints brought against Social Workers. Nancy describes herself as “being in love” with what she does. Her enthusiasm and humor are contagious and pervasive throughout her work.
